Rajesh Khanna, also known as Jatin Khanna, was born on December 29, 1942, in Amritsar, Punjab, in a Hindu Khatri family. Chunnilal Khanna and Leelawati Khanna, relatives of his biological parents, adopted him and nurtured him. His father had moved from West Punjab to Amritsar’s Gali Tiwarian. Lala Hiranand Khanna and Chandrani Khanna were his biological parents.
