Vishnu Vardhan, Manchu Babu was born to actor Mohan Babu and the late Vidya Devi in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India (now Chennai). He grew up with his sister Lakshmi and brother Manoj.
Manchu earned his engineering degree from Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College, focusing on Computer Sciences and Information Technology, after graduating from the Padmaseshadri Bala Bhavan School.
He was a member of the Bhaskar JNTU cricket team at the time, as well as the university basketball team’s captain.
