Shreyas Iyer was born on December 6, 1994, in Chembur, Mumbai, to Kerala-born Santosh Iyer and Mangalorean Tuluva Rohini Iyer.
Iyer stated in an interview with The Hindu that his origins are from Thrissur, Kerala. He received his education at Matunga’s Don Bosco High School and Mumbai’s Ramniranjan Anandilal Podar College of Commerce and Economics.
