Biography of Mammootty
Mammootty was born in Chandiroor on September 7, 1951. He was born into a middle-class Muslim family in the hamlet of Chempu near Vaikom in the Kottayam district of Kerala, India.
Ismail, his father, ran a wholesale clothing and rice business and was also a rice farmer. Fatima, his mother, was a stay-at-home mom.
He was the oldest of their children. Ibrahimkutty and Zakariah are his younger brothers, and Ameena, Sauda, and Shafina are his younger sisters.
For his elementary schooling, he attended Government High School in Kulasekharamangalam, Kottayam. His father relocated the family to Ernakulam in the 1960s, and he attended Government School Ernakulam.
At Sacred Heart College in Thevara, he completed his pre-university course (pre-degree). For his education, he went to Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam. He earned his LL.B. from Ernakulam’s Government Law College. In Manjeri, he practised law for two years.
