Early life and family
Dulquer Salmaan was born in Kochi on July 28, 1986. Salmaan is Mammootty’s second child with his wife Sulfath. Surumy, his older sister, is his only sibling.
He attended Toc-H Public School in Vyttila, Kochi, for his elementary education, and Sishya School in Chennai for his secondary school.
He subsequently relocated to the United States and graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
He worked in the United States after graduating and eventually ran an I.T.-related firm in Dubai.
He eventually chose to pursue a profession in acting and enrolled in a three-month study at Mumbai’s Barry John Acting Studio.
He chose acting because “somewhere down the path, my life became tedious and predictable,” he said in a 2012 interview.
Stepping stone into Dulquer Salmaan Net Worth (Career)
Salmaan made his acting debut in Srinath Rajendran’s Second Show (2012), in which he played Harilal, a criminal.
When asked about his “unconventional entry with a group of novices” in an interview, Salmaan responded that he made the decision because he believes that “…when an actor debuts, he has to earn the right to be a hero and not receive it through a shortcut route.”
The film had a mixed response from critics. “…it is Salmaan’s great screen presence and a matured acting technique that makes the movie an engaging watch,” said a Sify critic, while Rediff’s Paresh C Palicha panned his performance.
“There’s no doubting that he has a handsome appearance and a pleasing baritone (a gift of his gene pool).
However, this does not equate to good acting or performance.” He earned the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for the film, which was a commercial success.

Salmaan took on another romantic role in Salalah Mobiles in 2014, opposite Nazriya Nazim; like Pattam Pole, Salalah Mobiles was a commercial failure for the actor.
Salmaan’s next film was Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual (2014). While the Malayalam version, Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram, was not well received, the Tamil version was well welcomed and became a sleeper hit.
“He receives extra brownie points for dubbing in his own voice and speaking fluent Tamil,” IANS stated, adding that Salmaan is “a joy to see.” For the film, he won his second Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
