Puneeth’s family relocated to Mysore when he was six years old. Until he was ten years old, his father accompanied him and his sister Poornima on his film sets.
Shiva Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar, his older brothers, are also professional actors.
On December 1, 1999, Puneeth married Chikmagalur native Ashwini Revanth. Drithi and Vanditha, their two daughters, were born after they met through a mutual friend.
Death
Puneeth died on his way to the hospital on October 29, 2021, after complaining of uneasiness to his wife Ashwini. Cardiac arrest was determined to be the cause of his death.
He donated his eyes in accordance with his father Rajkumar’s promise that he and his entire family would donate their eyes after death.
Four people have received sight thanks to his eye donation. Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, and other leaders attended his state funeral.
His body was on display for three days at Kanteerava stadium, with over ten lakh people reportedly in attendance. In Bangalore, he was buried alongside his parents at Sree Kanteerava Studios.
