Early life
Jaya Prada was born Lalita Rani into the Rajaka dynasty in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. Krishna Rao, her father, was a Telugu film financier. Neelaveni, her mother, was a stay-at-home mom. Lalitha was enrolled in dance and music training at a young age and attended a Telugu medium school in Rajahmundry.
