His father has African-American, Jamaican, German, and English ancestors, while his mother has Russian, Swedish, French, Dutch, Syrian, and Lebanese ancestors. Leigh and Gillian are his two sisters.
When Miller was a year old, his family relocated to Park Slope, Brooklyn. He attended Midwood High School in Brooklyn and received an A.B. in English from Princeton University in 1995.
He was a member of the Quadrangle Club and the Colonial Club while at Princeton, where he sang in the Princeton Tigertones a cappella group.

Miller moved to Los Angeles in 1995 to seek an acting career. He has admitted that his ascension to popularity was a bumpy ride “It took a long time to get here, and there were many setbacks, disappointments, and barriers along the way, but I couldn’t give up.
It was something I had to do because I needed it like I needed breath.” Miller’s first TV role was as Gage Petronzi, a student-turned-sea monster on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (“Go Fish”, 1998).
Primary source of Wentworth Miller Net worth (Acting)
Miller’s first leading role was in the ABC mini-series Dinotopia in 2002 when he played the sensitive, shy David Scott.
After a few brief television parts, he went on to co-star alongside Anthony Hopkins in the 2003 film The Human Stain as Coleman Silk, a younger version of Hopkins’ character. He empathized with the central conflict of the film, which concerns a black man who chooses to “pass” as white.
Miller put a lot of effort into the part, not just researching Anthony Hopkins but also training for four months to depict Silk as a fighter. He also had a brief role in the film Underworld in 2003, playing a doctor and Michael Corvin’s acquaintance.
Miller was cast as Michael Scofield in the Fox Network program Prison Break in 2005. He portrayed a skilled structural engineer who devised a complex plan to help his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), avoid death row after being wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit. His character has a tattoo covering his entire upper body (front and back).
The special effects for the tattoo took nearly four hours to apply, covering both the front and back of Miller’s chest, as well as both arms from shoulders to wrists.
He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series in 2005 for his work on the show. After four seasons, the show was canceled in 2009, but a fresh nine-episode fifth season featuring Miller resuming his role was published on April 4, 2017.
Miller joins the cast of The CW superhero series The Flash in July 2014, as Leonard Snart / Captain Cold in a recurring role. He originally appeared in the fourth episode of season one, and he reprised his role on Legends of Tomorrow.
These programs reunited him with Dominic Purcell, who played Mick Rory / Heat Wave in Prison Break. Miller left Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular at the end of season one, but he secured a deal with Warner Bros. TV to reprise his role as Snart on multiple Arrowverse projects.
Miller created the screenplay for Voltage Pictures and Killer Films’ horror thriller The Disappointments Room, which was released in 2016. Critics were harsh in their assessments of the film.
He’s apparently in talks to create a screenplay adaptation of David Wroblewski’s novel The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, which will be produced by Oprah Winfrey and Tom Hanks, among others.
Miller is a British Columbian who lives in Vancouver. Because he was born in the United Kingdom to American parents, he has dual citizenship in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Miller stated he tried suicide numerous times as a youth. He spoke about his struggles as a closeted actor in Hollywood and how his participation in the ManKind Project taught him about brotherhood, sisterhood, and being a member of a community.
Miller was named an ambassador for Active Minds, a mental health charity, on October 17, 2016. He wrote this passionate message in response to a meme of himself from 2010 that mocked his weight gain.
Miller claimed that he gained weight because he was suicidal and found consolation in eating. He gave connections to groups like the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and Active Minds near the end of the post.
