The younger son of Adv. Ellikkal and Sheela Thomas, Tovino was born into a Syrian Malabar Catholic household in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur.
Tingston Thomas and Dhanya Thomas are his siblings. After completing his primary education at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Irinjalakuda and his secondary (Plus Two) education at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School in Irinjalakuda, he earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Tamil Nadu College of Engineering in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
