Padmini Kolhapure was born into a Marathi household, the second of three daughters born to professional musician Pandharinath Kolhapure and his wife Nirupama Kolhapure.
Former actress Shivangi Kapoor, wife of actor Shakti Kapoor and mother of actress Shraddha Kapoor and actor Siddhanth Kapoor, is her older sister. Tejaswini Kolhapure, her younger sister, is also an actor.
