Michael John Myers was born on May 25, 1963, in Scarborough, Ontario, to British immigrant parents from Liverpool’s Old Swan neighborhood. Eric Myers worked as an insurance agent, while Alice “Bunny” E. Myers worked as a data processor.
His father fought in the British Army, and his mother in the Royal Air Force, and both were World War II veterans. He has two older brothers, Paul, a musician, and Peter, a Sears Canada employee.
He grew raised in the North York and Scarborough suburbs of Toronto, where he attended Sir John A. Macdonald Collegiate Institute. In 1982, he received his diploma from Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute.
