Kate Bush’s life story
Robert Bush (1920–2008), an English general practitioner, and Hannah née Daly (1918–1992), an Irish staff nurse and the child of a farmer in County Waterford, had Bush on July 30, 1958, in Bexleyheath, Kent.
She grew raised in a 350-year-old former farmhouse at East Wickham in Welling, which is close to Bexleyheath, with her older brothers, John and Paddy.
Bush comes from a creative family; her father played the piano for fun, her mother was an amateur traditional Irish dancer, Paddy made musical instruments, and John was a poet and photographer.
Involved in the regional folk music scene were both brothers. Her upbringing was Roman Catholic.
Stepping stone into Kate Bush Net Worth (Career)
Bush attended the local Catholic girls’ school St. Joseph’s Convent Grammar School. Her family put together a demo cassette featuring more than 50 of her works during this time, but record companies rejected it.
The demo was given to Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour by Ricky Hopper, a friend of the Bush family.
Gilmour assisted the 16-year-old Bush in creating a more polished demo recording after becoming impressed. Gilmour provided funding for Bush to record three songs.
The recording was made by sound engineer Geoff Emerick, who had worked with the Beatles, and Andrew Powell, a friend of Gilmour’s who later produced his first two albums of Bush. Terry Slater, an executive at EMI, received the recording and signed Bush.

Del Palmer, a bassist and sound engineer, and Bush were romantically involved from the end of the 1970s through the beginning of the 1990s.
