Biography of Jan Oblak
Oblak, who was born in the Upper Carniolan village of kofja Loka, began playing football for his hometown team Loan at the age of five. He joined the Olimpija youth program when he was ten years old, and stayed there until the club was liquidated at the end of the 2004–05 season. He then transferred to the newly created Beigrad, which was renamed Olimpija Ljubljana in 2008 after a series of name changes.

Oblak turned down a contract offer from Empoli in Italy in favor of a trial at Fulham the following year, but he stayed with the club and signed a contract extension until 2011.
Oblak made his professional debut for Olimpija Ljubljana in the 2008–09 Slovenian Second League against Mura 05 on May 17, 2009, at the age of 16.
