Fonda was born in Los Angeles, California, on January 27, 1964, to a family of actors that included her grandpa Henry Fonda, father Peter Fonda, and aunt Jane Fonda. Susan Jane Brewer, her mother, is an artist. Bridget Hayward, the daughter of actress Margaret Sullavan, is her name. Mary Sweet, her maternal grandmother, married Noah Dietrich, a merchant.
