Biography of Madhubala
Early Life
Madhubala was born on February 14, 1933, in Delhi, British India, as Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi. She was the sixth of Ataullah Khan and Aayesha Begum’s eleven children. Khan was a Pashtun from the Yusufzai clan, and after a long period of unemployment, he found a position with the Imperial Tabacco Company in 1925.
He despised his job due to his hatred of tobacco, but he persevered in order to pay off the obligations he had accrued in his early days. Khan was feared by all of his family members, including Madhubala, because of his short temper among his coworkers.

Stepping stone into Madhubala Net Worth (Career)
Rai Bahadur Chunnilal, the general manager of Bombay Talkies studio in Bombay, first noticed Madhubala in 1941. Chunnilal liked Madhubala right away and advised her father to visit Bombay if his daughter was interested in appearing in movies. Khan eventually transferred his family to the Malad suburbs of Bombay in the summer of 1941.
Chunnilal signed Madhubala to a juvenile character in his company’s production Basant after receiving consent from the studio authorities. Basant was a hit when released in July 1942, but the studio didn’t need a young performer at the moment, so her contract was terminated.

Primary source of Madhubala Net worth (Acting)
Sharma cast Madhubala, who is 14 years old, as the heroine in Neel Kamal. Shah objected to Sharma’s choice and had Madhubala’s contract cancelled, allowing her to collaborate with Sharma.
Sharma was struck by Madhubala’s industrious and helpful nature, having directed her in Mumtaz Mahal (1944) and Dhanna Bhagat (1945). Due to her young age and relative inexperience, the industry reacted negatively, but the filmmaker quickly began filming with Madhubala and Raj Kapoor as the film’s lead performers.
Madhubala first appeared onscreen alongside Nath in Amiya Chakravarty’s Badal (1951), an adaptation of Robin Hood’s Adventures (1938). The film was a huge success because of the publicity around the actors, and they were cast together in two further productions: Aaram (1951) and Saqi (1952).
Madhubala was approached by filmmaker Frank Capra around the same period, who wanted to give her a shot in Hollywood, but her father turned down Capra’s offer. Nonetheless, Madhubala had established herself as a great Bollywood star by this time.
When James Burke arrived in India in November 1951 to shoot her for a feature in the American magazine Life, her international fame was cemented.

In 1959, Madhubala released three more films: Insan Jaag Utha, Kal Hamara Hai, and Do Ustad. Insan Jaag Utha, Madhubala’s second collaboration with Samanta, was shot in Andhra Pradesh, marking the final of Madhubala’s two trips outside of Bombay. The picture was well-received by the public, and she was dubbed the “backbone” in the reviews.
Do Ustad, Tara Harish’s final film of the year was one of the year’s biggest box-office triumphs. Madhubala concluded the filming of Mughal-e-Azam in May 1959. The film was the most costly Indian film created up to that date, with a budget of $15 million. For her seven-year service, she got paid around 3 lakhs. Madhubala then kicked off the new decade with her own film, Mehlon Ke Khwab (1960), which was a box office flop.
Personal Life
Marriage
Madhubala married Kishore Kumar in a court ceremony on October 16, 1960. The couple was deemed a mismatch because of their opposing personalities. Following a small reception, the newlyweds and her doctor, Rustom Jal Vakil, flew to London to combine their honeymoon with specialised care for her heart ailment.
Doctors in London, on the other hand, were concerned that she would die during the operation and encouraged her to avoid stress and worry and learn to relax. Madhubala was told she wouldn’t be able to have children and given a two-year life expectancy.
She and her husband returned to Bombay a few days later, and she quickly relocated from her home to Kishore’s Seskaria cottage in Bandra. Madhubala moved to Kishore’s newly purchased flat at Quarter Deck in Bandra in late 1960.
Death and funeral
Madhubala’s health had taken a turn for the worst on her 36th birthday: she had just caught jaundice and was diagnosed with hematuria after a urinalysis. Madhubala suffered a heart attack on February 22nd at 12 a.m., which her family reported to Vakil, who declared her death imminent.
She fought for a few hours with her family and Kishore before passing away at 7:30 a.m. on February 23, barely nine days after turning 36. Madhubala was buried with her personal journal at the Juhu Muslim Cemetery in Santacruz, Mumbai. Her mausoleum was made of marble, with inscriptions that included Quran aayats and verse dedications.
Philanthropist
Madhubala was dubbed the “queen of philanthropy” in the modern media. “Papa Ataullah Khan must, indeed, be a proud man to have a daughter like Madhubala, who is not only gorgeous and talented but is also so generous and noble-hearted,” Morarji Desai wrote in a letter to her.
Madhubala used to pay monthly incentives to the studio’s lesser personnel “and go to work without yelling about it from the rooftops,” according to a Filmindia storey. Madhubala also donated a camera crane to the Film and Television Institute of India in 1962, which is still in use today.
