Early life
Bina Rai was born in Lahore, Punjab, British India, as Krishna Sarin. During the communal riots of 1931, her family was evacuated from Lahore and relocated to Uttar Pradesh. She went to school in Lahore and subsequently to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, for IT college.
