Sunny Deol was born on October 19, 1956, in the Punjabi Jat Sikh town of Sahnewal, India, to Bollywood actors Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur.
He has a younger brother, Bobby Deol, and two sisters, Vijayta and Ajeeta, all settled in California. Hema Malini is his stepmother, and he has two paternal half-sisters, actress Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, through her. Abhay Deol, his cousin, is also an actor.
