John Buscemi, a sanitation worker and Korean War veteran, and Dorothy Buscemi, a Howard Johnson’s hostess, raised Buscemi in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. Buscemi’s father was Sicilian, with ancestry from the town of Menfi on the island of Sicily.
