Caradoc, his Welsh middle name, means “The Beloved One” in English. Dame Anna Neagle, a theatre and cinema actress active in the 1930s and 1940s, was his paternal great-aunt.
He has three siblings: an older brother, James, a biology student in the United States, and two sisters, Rosanna and Clarista, also actresses. Hoult spent the majority of his childhood at his family’s home in Sindlesham, a village in the Wokingham borough.

Hoult began attending auditions when he was five years old, and his first feature film part was in the 1996 drama Intimate Relations. He later appeared in a number of television shows, including Casualty, Silent Witness, The Bill, Judge John Deed, and Doctors.
Primary source of Nicholas Hoult Net worth (Acting)
Richard E. Grant’s semi-autobiographical film Wah-Wah (2005) features Hoult as Ralph Compton, a boy forced to deal with his family’s dissolution. The film is set in Swaziland during the 1960s and tells the storey of the Swaziland Protectorate’s final years.
With Gore Verbinski’s film The Weather Man (2005), Hoult makes his Hollywood debut as the son of a television weather presenter going through a mid-life crisis. The picture went mostly forgotten, as did Hoult’s performance. Both Wah-Wah and The Weather Man had a terrible box office performance.
Commercial success with X-Men and Mad Max
Hoult was cast as Nux in George Miller’s action thriller Mad Max: Fury Road; the movie languished in development hell for several years due to budgetary concerns with a fourth Mad Max picture.
Filming was set to begin in mid-2010, however unexpected rains in Australia caused significant delays during pre-production. Hoult began looking for additional opportunities since he had no other pressing obligations.

Due to his ability to play someone “soft with a capability of being strong,” he was eventually cast in the part of Hank McCoy / Beast for the X-Men film series. Before beginning filming on the 2011 Matthew Vaughn-directed X-Men: First Class, a prequel to the franchise’s earlier films, Hoult got to know his character; he said he “formulated his own version of the Beast” and drew inspiration from Kelsey Grammer’s performance in the previous X-Men: The Last Stand because he wanted to emulate Grammer’s charm and eloquence.
Hoult picked up an accent that sounded similar to Grammer’s without attempting to imitate it. In order to better suit his role, he also underwent physical training and acquired weight.
The picture, which received critical acclaim for its writing and acting, did relatively well at the box office, grossing roughly $353 million against a $160 million production budget.
Personal life and other work
Hoult has been dating Bryana Holly, an American model, since March 2017. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in 2018.
During his boyhood, Hoult was a member of the Reading Rockets, a team that competed in the English Basketball League. Later, he was named the club’s ambassador. He is also a fan of Formula One racing, having visited Grand Prix events in Montreal, Singapore, and Germany.
Philanthropy
Hoult is a philanthropist who supports a number of charities, including organisations that help children. He was named the inaugural Young Person Ambassador for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) to support the charity’s initiatives for children and young people.
He has also been working with the Teenage Cancer Trust since 2009, where he continues to visit patients supported by the organisation and promotes its awareness programmes, such as “Shunburn,” a sun-safety campaign.
Save the Children and Selfish Mother collaborated on a Christmas Jumper Day campaign, and Hoult designed the sweaters. He urged shoppers to purchase the holiday collection and donate to the philanthropic cause, which he said would make a “genuine difference in the lives of children.”
Small Steps Project, an organization that supports homeless and hungry children, auctioned off a pair of sneakers he provided. In 2010, Hoult was admitted into the NSPCC Hall of Fame for his efforts in the anti-cruelty campaign.
Filmography and awards
Hoult won Best Youth Performance at the Phoenix Film Critics Society Awards and was nominated for Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer for his part in About a Boy (2002).
