Early life
Kim Victoria Cattrall was born on August 21, 1956, in the Mossley Hill neighborhood of Liverpool, to Gladys Shane, a secretary, and Dennis Cattrall, a construction engineer. Cristopher was her brother’s name. Her family immigrated to Canada when she was three months old and settled in Courtenay, British Columbia.

When her grandmother became ill at the age of 11, she returned to Liverpool. She studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art for a year before returning to Canada and moving to New York City for her first acting gig at the age of 16.
