Biography of Radhika Apte
Early life
Radhika Apte was born in the Tamil Nadu city of Vellore. When she was born, her parents were studying and working as doctors at the Christian Medical College & Hospital in Vellore.
Dr Charudutt Apte, her father, went on to become a neurosurgeon and the chairman of Sahyadri Hospital in Pune. She graduated from Fergusson College in Pune with a degree in Economics and Mathematics.

She attended a regular school in Pune before being home educated with four friends by their parents, who lived in the same building and did not want their children to attend a regular school. Apte considered the experience liberating since it increased her self-esteem.
Apte studied Kathak for eight years in Pune under Kathak exponent Rohini Bhate. Apte became active in theatre in Pune at this time and chose to move to Mumbai to pursue a career in filmmaking.
