Early life and family

In 1989, Boult was born in Rotorua. He attended Otumoetai College and grew up in Hope and Tauranga.

Jono Boult, the cricketer, is his younger brother. Boult is of Mori heritage and belongs to the Ngi Tahu, Ngti Porou, and Ngi Te Rangi iwi.
