John Felix Anthony Cena was born on April 23, 1977, in West Newbury, Massachusetts, to Carol and John Cena. His mother is of English and French-Canadian background, and his father is of Italian descent.
Tony Lupien, a baseball player, was his maternal grandfather. Stephen is his older brother, and Dan, Matt, and Sean are his younger brothers. Natalie Enright Jerger, a computer scientist, is his cousin.
