V. D. Swamy, an industrialist, and Vasantha, a Bharatanatyam dancer, are Swamy’s parents. Swamy attended Sishya School, Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and P. S. Senior Secondary School before graduating in 1987.
In 1990, he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Loyola College in Madras. He subsequently travelled to Wake Forest University in North Carolina to get his master’s degree in international business.
Arvind Swamy aspired to be a physician. He used to work as a model in college to supplement his income.
He was not warmly accepted by his Loyola Theatre Society, and he was asked to leave the stage.
